About the Role:
We are looking for a Data Analyst who will focus on turning raw data into evidence that drives meaningful change for students. Reporting to the Digital and Data Manager, you will be responsible for the entire data lifecycle - cleansing, modeling, and consolidating data from multiple sources into structured stores, while identifying smart opportunities to automate and optimise York SU’s digital workflows.
Technically proficient in SQL, Python, and data visualisation tools, you will design polished, interactive dashboards that translate complex data into clear KPIs. Beyond the technical side, you will act as a trusted advisor across the organisation, collaborating with staff and student leaders to translate complex insights into actionable data storytelling that directly supports campaigns, strategic planning, and a data-driven student culture.
This is a part-time (21hrs/wk), fixed term role. Employees must be available to work from campus, with the option for some occasional home working if appropriate for the role and with the agreement of their line manager. We offer a competitive starting salary of £15,645 (FTE £26,075). Join us and help shape the future of our Students' Union!

**It is important to note that there may be occasions where it is not practicable or appropriate to interview all disabled people that meet the minimum criteria for the job. For example: in certain recruitment situations such as high number of applications, seasonal and high-peak times, we may have to limit the overall numbers of interviews offered to both disabled people and non-disabled people.
If you are invited to interview with us we will share our interview questions in advance so you can feel a little more prepared. We’re more interested in hearing about your experiences and ideas than in testing your memory, and so we want you to feel as comfortable as possible.
