The University of York Students' Union is a charity run by and for the 22,000 students at the University of York. From our hard-working teams at our award-winning venues to our CEO, we all share the same goal - to put students at the heart of everything we do.

The Application

Our Hiring Approach

  • Essential Criteria: Don't be discouraged if you don't meet every point of the 'essential criteria'—some skills can be taught.
  • Blind Shortlisting: We conduct blind shortlisting. Personal information unrelated to your training and experience is withheld from the panel. Your Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) information is only seen by the HR Team.
  • Interviews: If invited, you will receive the interview questions a few days prior, we do this to try and take a little pressure off the interview experience, we want to get to know you without the worry that can come with interviews.
  • If invited to interview please inform us of any reasonable adjustments you require for the interview.
  • Flexible Working: Most permanent roles offer hybrid and flexible working options, and we are willing to consider alternative bank holidays in line with applicants beliefs (e.g., Ramadan/Diwali).
